Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an Enablement Complex Care Assistant supporting an 18-year-old male client in Sunderland. This rewarding role focuses on providing person-centred enablement support, helping the individual access the local community, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve personal goals. You will work closely with the client to encourage participation in activities, promote wellbeing, and provide a safe, positive, and engaging support experience. Flexible shifts of 4-6 hours per day are available, with male applicants preferred due to the specific needs of the service user. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality enablement support to an 18-year-old male with complex care needs.
- Support the client in accessing community activities, appointments, social opportunities, and local services.
- Promote independence by encouraging the development of daily living skills and personal confidence.
- Build a positive and professional relationship with the client while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Monitor and document support provided, reporting any concerns or changes in the client's wellbeing.
- Follow individual care and support plans, risk assessments, and company procedures at all times.
- Work collaboratively with family members, healthcare professionals, and the wider care team to achieve positive outcomes.
Skills
- Previous experience in complex care, support work, or enablement services is desirable.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative whilst promoting safe and effective support.
- A flexible approach to working 4-6 hour shifts based on the client's needs and preferences.
- Understanding of person-centred care and the importance of promoting independence.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role due to the specific requirements of the service user.
