Are you a passionate Registered Nurse looking for your next leadership opportunity? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working alongside the Home Manager, you will lead the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care whilst supporting and developing a dedicated nursing and care team.
This role is ideally suited to a nurse with experience in elderly care and dementia services who is looking to further develop their management career within a highly regarded nursing home. Applicants must hold a valid NMC PIN and be available to commence employment within 4 weeks of appointment.
About the Role
Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring residents receive exceptional care and support. You will help lead and develop our care team, oversee clinical and operational standards, and promote a positive culture focused on dignity, respect and continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the overall management and leadership of the home.
- Leading high-quality dementia care and person-centred practice.
- Supervising, mentoring and developing members of the care team.
- Supporting recruitment, induction, training and performance management.
- Ensuring care plans and records are accurate, up to date and compliant.
- Managing staffing levels and supporting roster planning.
- Promoting a safe environment for residents, visitors and colleagues.
- Supporting quality assurance, governance and CQC compliance.
- Working alongside the Home Manager to assess prospective residents and support occupancy and funding processes.
- Acting as a role model and promoting best practice across the service.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC PIN (essential).
- Has previous experience in a senior nursing, clinical leadership, deputy manager or similar management role within a care home environment.
- Has a strong understanding of dementia care and person-centred practice.
- Demonstrates excellent clinical leadership and decision-making skills.
- Is confident leading, motivating and developing teams.
- Possesses excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Is committed to delivering outstanding standards of care and resident wellbeing.
- Has knowledge of CQC requirements and care home regulations.
- Is willing to work towards or already holds a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.
