Overview
This is part time position Monday Tuesday and Thursday 10.00 to 15.00 . The Activity Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care home. This position involves planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests of our residents, including those living with dementia. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for working with the elderly and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Duties
- Implement a varied programme of activities tailored to the needs and preferences of residents.
- Facilitate group and individual activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of ability, including those requiring dementia care.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
- Communicate effectively with residents and their families to encourage involvement in activities.
- Special events and outings that enhance community engagement and foster relationships among residents.
- Ensure a safe environment during all activities by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with seniors empathetically.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt activities as needed.
- A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful engagement.
