Bibby Commercials is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Semi-Skilled HGV Technician to join our busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical experience who wants to develop a long-term career within the commercial vehicle industry. Whether you have experience working on cars, vans, agricultural machinery, plant equipment or commercial vehicles, we can provide the training and support needed to progress into a fully qualified HGV Technician.
Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll gain hands-on experience maintaining, servicing, repairing and refurbishing HGVs, trailers and specialist equipment for some of the UK's leading transport and logistics operators.
What You'll Be Doing
· Assisting with the servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and trailers.
· Supporting experienced technicians with fault diagnosis and repairs.
· Carrying out inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
· Assisting with trailer refurbishment, fabrication and workshop projects.
· Maintaining accurate job card and maintenance records.
· Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
· Helping maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
· Developing your technical skills through ongoing training and mentoring.
What We're Looking For
Essential
· Mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
· Previous experience in a workshop, engineering, automotive, agricultural, plant or related environment.
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
· Good attention to detail.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Positive attitude and commitment to high standards.
Desirable
· Experience working on commercial vehicles, trailers or heavy equipment.
· Relevant mechanical or engineering qualification.
· Welding or fabrication experience.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
· Interest in pursuing a career within HGV maintenance.
