We are looking for a technically strong Accountant to support the finance function of a growing international distribution group. We have multiple European entities and locations, working with the intercompany transfers of products.
A 3–6-month interim opportunity with the potential into a permanent position if required. Reporting to the Group FD, the role will be responsible for the accounting of the business’s individual European company accounts, and the preparation of the consolidated Group monthly management accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing individual European company accounts
Preparing Group monthly consolidated management accounts
Management of Xero accounting ledger for various entities
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all European companies
Post accruals, prepayments, and month-end journals
Raise intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany balances
Support system improvements and financial process controls
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
European multi-entity experience in distribution, stockholding, or product-based businesses
Advanced Excel skills to manage complex files and support simplification
Cashflow management and reconciliation experience
Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
An ability and determined attitude for resolving difficult reconciliation matters
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable - Experience reconciling European VAT returns and Intrastat reports
