We are now looking for an experienced Field Service & Installation Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, installation, maintenance and repair of NIKKEN equipment at customer sites throughout the UK, with occasional travel to Europe.
The role is predominantly field-based, with regular travel to customer sites and occasional attendance at our Rotherham office.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased, apprentice-trained Engineer with previous Field Service experience, or a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step into a customer-facing field service role.
You will be technically capable, customer-focused and comfortable working independently in a variety of manufacturing environments. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about engineering, keen to develop their skills and motivated to build a successful career with a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify, install, maintain and repair CNC Rotary Tables, Tool Presetters and other NIKKEN products both at customer sites and within the workshop, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
- Perform regular maintenance, fault-finding and troubleshooting to ensure optimum equipment performance.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and control-related issues promptly, minimising customer downtime.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, including training where required.
- Work closely with colleagues to improve service delivery and maximise customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, servicing, repairs and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, health and safety requirements and customer standards.
- Keep up to date with developments in precision engineering, CNC technology and relevant industry practices.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times, providing clear and effective communication both face-to-face and through telephone, email and digital channels.
About You
We are looking for an engineer who can demonstrate:
- An electrical bias with a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in Field Service, Maintenance Engineering, Installation or a similar engineering environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and problem-solving.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload while travelling between customer sites.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A professional and positive approach when dealing with customers.
- A willingness to learn and develop.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, with occasional European travel.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
