Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individualto join our team as a Cook . The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and excellent kitchen experience, with a focus on delivering safe, nutritious, and appetising meals. In this role, you will support meal preparation, food safety practices, and serve residents with professionalism and care, contributing to a positive dining experience for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
- Have the ability to create meals that meet the dietary and nutritional requirements of residents within a setting where recording of dietary requirements falls within the responsibility of the cook
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of food handling and kitchen sanitation.
- Support the kitchen team in organising ingredients, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient meal service.
- Serve meals to residents in a courteous and respectful manner, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to create a safe environment for staff and residents alike.
- Contribute to maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces regularly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal delivery while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a commercial or residential setting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for hygiene.
- Experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably within a healthcare or elderly care setting.
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques suitable for diverse dietary needs.
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly and caring attitude towards residents.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and inventory management is desirable.
