We're looking for an experienced, passionate Barista to join our independent café in the heart of New Cross, just one minute from Goldsmiths University.
For the past 7 years, Wakey Wakey Café has been serving specialty coffee, fresh breakfasts, delicious lunches, fresh juices, and smoothies to our amazing community. We're proud to have built a loyal customer base and are loved by locals as well as visitors from neighbouring towns. Our café is known for its vibrant atmosphere, friendly team, and genuinely lovely customers.
About the Role
As a Barista, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding coffee and exceptional customer service. You'll be working in a fast-paced, community-focused café where quality, consistency, and hospitality are at the heart of everything we do.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality specialty coffee and espresso-based drinks.
- Make fresh juices and smoothies.
- Serve breakfast and lunch with care and attention to detail.
- Deliver warm, friendly, and efficient customer service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a barista in a specialty coffee shop.
- Excellent latte art and espresso preparation skills.
- Passion for specialty coffee and hospitality.
- Friendly, positive, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment while maintaining high standards.
- A team player who enjoys creating a welcoming experience for customers.

Pay: £12.80-£13.80 per hour
