Job summary:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Accountant to join our thriving team as part of an apprenticeship programme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in accountancy while gaining a recognised qualification with full support from our experienced team. You will provide support to our clients and colleagues while developing your skills and knowledge in a professional environment. Main Duties:
- General accountancy duties for a range of clients from varied industries
- Completing tax returns
- Taking Accounts up to trail balance or further
- Sales, purchase and nominal ledger maintenance/processing
- Bank Reconciliations
- VAT return preparation
- Preparing reports for clients
- Process and manage the payroll for all employees on a weekly/monthly basis
- Ensure that all payroll data is accurate and up-to-date
- Produce payroll reports and provide data to management as required
- Ensure queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all clients
The candidate:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn with a genuine interest in accountancy and finance.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
- Adaptable and willing to learn new systems, processes, and technologies.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A proactive team player who is willing to take initiative and ask questions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Actively work as part of the Company team
- Committed to studying towards a recognised accounting qualification as part of the apprenticeship.
- Positive, motivated, and keen to develop a long-term career within a supportive and growing accountancy practice.
