Job Description – Financial Controller
Reports to: Fractional Finance Director / CEO
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Location: Eastbourne, Sussex

Job Role:
This is a key role working closely with the Fractional Finance Director and the CEO, providing financial control and high-quality work in a fast paced, purpose-driven environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment, is highly organised, proactive and has a hands-on strong attention to detail.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day finance function, managing a small team
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting
- Cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Assist with commercial insight on margins, pricing, and performance
- Support operational teams with financial understanding and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate and improve finance systems
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Experience in a Financial Controller or similar role within an SME
- Confident & proficient user of cloud accounting software (QuickBooks) and Excel.
- Hands on and highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to grow with the company.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience in the care sector
- Developing new systems and processes.
