Job Overview
We are seeking 11+ tutors, for in-person lessons in South East and West London. In this role, you will deliver engaging tutoring sessions focused on preparing students for the 11+ entrance exams. Your passion for teaching, combined with your ability to connect with children, will inspire confidence and foster academic growth. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys.
Strong understanding of the 11+ curriculum is useful but not required. We offer full training. Experienced tutors, teachers and persons with QTS are able to request for higher pay rates.
Duties
- Deliver tailored tutoring sessions to help students prepare for the 11+ entrance exams across core subjects such as English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning
- Assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to develop personalized learning plans
- Use effective teaching strategies to motivate students and build their exam confidence
- Track student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to parents or guardians
- Create engaging lesson materials that align with exam requirements and student needs
- Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that promotes active participation
- Maintain professional communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student success
Qualifications
- Experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with children or young learners
- Knowledge or willingness to learn of the 11+ exam content and format
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable
- Passion for education and helping students achieve their academic goals
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
