Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced dog groomer to join our professional pet care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal welfare and have a proven track record in grooming dogs of various breeds and sizes. Duties
- Perform grooming procedures including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Assess each dog’s coat condition and recommend suitable grooming treatments or maintenance routines
- Handle dogs with care, patience, and professionalism to minimise stress and ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, equipment, and work area in accordance with hygiene standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and aftercare advice
- Manage appointments efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
- Assist with animal care tasks such as feeding or administering medication if required
Skills
- Proven experience as a dog groomer with a portfolio of completed work
- Veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of different dog breeds’ grooming requirements and standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting of dogs and equipment during grooming sessions
- Compassionate attitude towards animals, with patience and calmness under pressure
- Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple appointments effectively
