Role: Quality Engineer

Hours: 38.5 per week
· Monday – Thursday: 0800 – 1700
· Friday: 0800 – 1230 (early finish)

We now have a fantastic career opportunity for a Quality Engineer who has experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
You will be supporting the management of customer relationships in all quality matters.
Key Duties:
- Create and submit FAIRs as per AS9102
- Create and submit PPAP and associated controls.
- Work with the team towards timely closure of corrective actions of customer returns and internal non-conformances.
- Work with Engineers in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions (WI).
- Review new standards and quality requirements as required to ensure compliance to customer and QMS requirements.
- Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors have the processes and systems necessary to supply products that meet company quality requirements.
- Perform internal/external audits as per internal, customer and QMs criteria’s.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- Provide quality support across the business where required to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
· Previous experience within a similar Quality/Engineering environment
· Knowledge of manufacturing and associated processes i.e. turning, milling, grinding and use of inspection equipment.
· Previous experience with the generation of FAIR as per AS9102
· Proficient with the use of 8D methodology
· Prior experience with internal auditing to ISO9001 or AS9100
· Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), to ensure product conformance, manufacturing accuracy, and quality requirements are met.
· Good knowledge of quality tools and methodologies i.e. Ishikawa fishbone, 5 whys, SPC, gage RR and 8D
· Good knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing and its associated methodologies, tools, and techniques, with the ability to apply them to drive continuous improvement, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
· 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or NVQ level 2 (as appropriate, or equivalent experience
· Proficient user of Microsoft word, excel and Powerpoint.
· Excellent time management and organisation skills
· Excellent attention to detail and delivery targets
· Excellent team working skills
Desirable
· Good knowledge of PPAP elements: Flow chart, PFMEA, Control plan, MSA studies, process capability (SPC).
· Have generated and submitted PPAP documentations within automotive or aerospace industry
· HNC/HND/Degree related to manufacturing/engineering industry
· A levels or NVQ level 3 or BTEC or apprenticeship as appropriate), or equivalent experience/degree or equivalent experience
