Hours: 1 x full time or 2 x part time, shift pattern consists of morning shifts, evening shifts, long days, sleep in shifts
Salary: £13.45 p/h
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Cartrefi Cwtch Ltd. We have a small, homely environment where we provide care and support to vulnerable adults. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, ensuring they receive the care, respect, and support they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Provide assistance with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and eating, ensuring residents’ dignity, comfort, and safety at all times.
- Health & Wellbeing Support: Assist with medication administration and monitor the health and wellbeing of residents. Report any changes in physical or mental health to senior staff and management.
- Social & Emotional Support: Encourage residents to engage in social and recreational activities, fostering an environment of positive interaction and companionship. Offer emotional support and reassurance when needed. Implement person-centred support through the active support model of care.
- Care Plan Implementation: Support residents according to their individual care plans, reviewing and updating as necessary in collaboration with the Home Manager and care team.
- Daily Routine & Housekeeping: Assist with housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, activities, and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Communication: Work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure the highest standard of care and service is provided. Participate in team meetings and training as required.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work well as part of a team and independently. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of residents.
- Qualifications: A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care) is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided if lacking qualifications.
- Personal Qualities: Caring, trustworthy, and responsible. Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Availability: Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Be willing to disclose personal information in order to carry out a disclosure and barring service check prior to starting role
- Be willing to complete mandatory training and qualifications in line with Social Care Wales guidance for registration.
