Job Summary

Duties
- Support AMHP's and mental health professionals in managing individuals experiencing mental health emergencies during transportation.
- Assist with patient assessment, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the ambulance journey.
- Help implement de-escalation techniques and provide emotional reassurance to distressed patients.
- Maintain clear documentation of patient conditions, interventions performed, and incident reports accurately.
- Ensure ambulance cleanliness, equipment readiness, and adherence to safety standards before and after shifts.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, emergency responders, and family members when appropriate.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques or experience working with individuals with autism is a plus.
- Background in special education or related fields demonstrating understanding of diverse needs.
- Prior experience in patient care or medical settings preferred.
- Ability to administer medication safely following established protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during high-stress situations.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and dedication to supporting mental health and well-being.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure is necessary for this post.
