Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to seniors, including those with dementia and other health conditions. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients in a nursing home setting. The Care Worker will assist with daily living activities, medication administration, and provide emotional support to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Duties
- Deliver personalised care to residents, focusing on their individual needs and preferences.
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Provide support for residents with dementia, employing behaviour management techniques as necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any concerns to the nursing staff.
- Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental stimulation.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by following health and safety protocols.
- Drive residents to appointments or outings as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Certification in First Aid is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if needed.
