Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant with a minimum of two years’ experience to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, adhering to strict hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under supervision
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in organizing supplies and stock management to ensure smooth workflow
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently while following health and safety protocols
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Help with setting up and breaking down service stations before and after shifts
- Follow health & safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Porter or Kitchen Assistant for at least two years in a busy restaurant or hotel environment
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and safety regulations
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cleaning and food prep tasks
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team of culinary professionals
- Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and food preparation processes
- Passion for hospitality, serving guests with professionalism and enthusiasm
