THE ROLE
The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing technical project delivery from start to finish. This role sits between clients, engineers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure work is completed properly, on time and to the MCS standard.
The role is also responsible for managing the project engineering team, supporting their development, maintaining delivery standards and ensuring resources are effectively planned across project workloads.
The successful person will be organised, assertive and proactive, with enough technical understanding to check that tasks have been completed correctly rather than simply marked as done. They will take ownership of delivery, keep clients updated, chase actions, remove blockers, support and manage project engineers, and ensure projects move forward smoothly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the successful delivery of client onboarding and technical projects from handover through to completion.
- Coordinate engineers, suppliers, clients and internal teams to ensure actions are completed on time.
- Check that project tasks have been completed correctly, not simply marked as done.
- Keep clients informed throughout project delivery, providing clear updates and managing expectations.
- Ensure all related documentation, procurement, provisioning, billing and service handover tasks are completed.
- Manage project handovers from sales, ensuring scope, requirements and expectations are clearly understood.
- Confirm project outcomes meet the agreed scope before closing work as complete.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying gaps in project processes and recommending improvements.
- Manage, support and develop the project engineering team, providing clear direction, mentorship and guidance.
- Hold regular 1-2-1s with project engineers to review workload, performance, development and delivery standards.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED
- Experience coordinating technical projects, service delivery or client onboarding within an IT environment.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365, networking, cyber security, backup and managed service technologies.
- Confident communicator who can keep clients updated.
- Ability to understand technical requirements well enough to question progress and confirm completion.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A hard-working, ownership-led mindset with the confidence to push actions through to completion.
- Experience managing and developing people.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
