We are looking for a reliable, practical, and respectful Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repairs across our properties and helping ensure they are safe, clean, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs within properties.
- Identify and repair water leaks, including basic plumbing maintenance.
- Carry out painting and decorating as required.
- Complete general repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Collect and purchase maintenance materials from local builders’ merchants, hardware stores, and other suppliers.
- Transport materials and equipment as required.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and tidy.
- Report any larger maintenance issues that require specialist contractors.
- Work professionally and respectfully around tenants.
Working with Tenants
The role involves working in properties where some tenants may have mental health needs. The successful candidate must therefore be patient, polite, respectful, and able to communicate appropriately with a range of people.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in property maintenance, repairs, or a similar role.
- Practical skills and the ability to carry out basic plumbing and painting work.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Able to work independently and manage day-to-day tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable travelling locally to collect materials when required.
- Full UK driving licence would be an advantage, if required for the role.
