Job Summary – Electrician (EICR & Remedial Works)
We are seeking a qualified and reliable Electrician to join our growing team, covering the South of England. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in both occupied and void residential properties for housing association clients, along with completing any associated remedial works to ensure compliance with current regulations.
This role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. As you will be working in residents' homes, professionalism, communication, and respect for tenants are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in occupied and void social housing properties.
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete remedial works in line with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with current industry standards and health & safety requirements.
- Accurately complete certification and reports using electronic devices and company systems.
- Identify and report any additional works required during inspections.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and testing equipment in good working order.
- Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with tenants, housing officers, and colleagues.
- Ensure work areas are left clean, safe, and tidy upon completion.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification. (or in the process of securing).
- Experience working within social housing, domestic properties, or housing associations is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK Driving License. with 6 or less penalty points.
