Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Bakery Shop Retail Assistant to join our vibrant team on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and supporting the daily operations of our bakery. This role includes food prepration, so past experience would be beneficial. This role offers an engaging environment where you can utilise your organisational and communication skills.
The current hours are: Monday 12-4:30pm , Tuesday 10-2pm, Thursday 12-4:30pm
There are additional holiday cover hours available to a succsessful applicant
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Operate the till efficiently, handling transactions accurately and courteously
- Provide information about products, including ingredients and special offers
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure the shop displays are attractive and organised
- Food and drink preperation and service
- Restock shelves and display cases as needed, ensuring products are fresh and appealing
- Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Keep the shop clean, tidy, and well-organised throughout your shift
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth daily operations
Experience
- Previous retail or customer service experience is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Previous food preperation experience
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette, are important for engaging with customers effectively
- Organisational skills and time management are essential for maintaining an efficient workflow during shifts
- Experience in merchandising or upselling techniques will be beneficial in promoting products and increasing sales
