Your daily responsibilities will include:
Fleet Compliance: Ensuring the fleet remains safe, legal and compliant with all legislative, DVSA, CQC and company requirements.
Patient & Driver Safety: Promoting a safety-first culture where patient and Driver Companion wellbeing is always the highest priority.
Supplier Management: Maintaining strong working relationships with vehicle manufacturers (OEMs), converters, independent workshops and external suppliers to deliver excellent service levels.
Operational Support: Working closely with the Operations Team to maximise fleet utilisation, minimise downtime and encourage effective cross-department collaboration.
Performance Management: Monitoring supplier performance, repair quality, vehicle downtime and maintenance costs, implementing improvements where required.
Team Leadership: Supporting the Fleet Director in leading, developing and mentoring the Fleet Team to deliver a high-performing department.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring all repairs and maintenance activities meet company, manufacturer and regulatory standards.
Risk Management: Identifying fleet-related risks and implementing mitigation plans to protect operational performance and compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Driving improvements across fleet systems, reporting, maintenance processes and supplier performance.
Regulatory Compliance: Supporting compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and developing knowledge of regulatory requirements where required.
Project Delivery: Supporting fleet projects including vehicle procurement, new vehicle introductions, technology implementations and operational improvements.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Significant experience managing a large operational fleet within a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience working with vehicle manufacturers (OEMs), converters and independent repair networks.
Commercial exposure with experience managing maintenance budgets and supplier costs.
Knowledge of fleet compliance, road transport legislation and vehicle maintenance best practice.
Experience managing fleet KPIs including vehicle uptime, compliance and maintenance performance.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments.
Experience using fleet management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of CQC requirements is desirable, or a willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
A full UK driving licence.
