Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Minister of Religion to lead spiritual services, provide pastoral care, and foster community engagement mostly among the Tamil-speaking diaspora in Essex and the surrounding Counties within our organization. This vital role involves guiding individuals through their spiritual journeys, offering mentorship, and supporting the emotional and spiritual well-being of diverse congregations. Duties
- Lead regular worship services, ceremonies, and spiritual gatherings that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Provide compassionate pastoral care and counseling to individuals and families facing life challenges, including hospice care needs.
- Mentor and support church members, volunteers, and staff in their spiritual growth and community involvement.
- Facilitate educational programs such as Bible studies, religious classes, and youth activities to nurture faith development.
- Engage in outreach initiatives, including fundraising efforts to support community projects and charitable activities.
- Collaborate with community organizations to promote interfaith dialogue and social service programs.
- Offer guidance on moral issues, life transitions, and personal development with sensitivity and clarity.
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching religious principles through sermons, classes, or workshops.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing religious services or community programs with enthusiasm and integrity.
- Strong communication skills capable of inspiring diverse audiences across age groups.
- Experience working with children and youth in educational or religious settings to foster their spiritual growth.
- Mentoring experience that encourages personal development within a faith-based environment.
- Background in hospice care or providing emotional support during critical life moments is highly desirable.
- Prior involvement in fundraising activities or charitable initiatives that advance community outreach efforts.
- Such a person must be fluent in the Tamil language as well as fluent English
