The Role
CBS Buildright is looking for an experienced and reliable Joiner / General Builder to join our team.
The role will primarily involve completing insurance reinstatement projects and contracted building works throughout Manchester and the surrounding region. General travel will be required, with a company van and fuel provided.
This is a varied position suited to a skilled tradesperson with strong joinery experience who is also confident undertaking a range of general building and property-repair works.
Main Responsibilities
- Completing first-fix and second-fix joinery.
- Fitting kitchens, worktops, units and associated components.
- Installing and repairing doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves and ironmongery.
- Constructing and repairing stud walls, timber floors and other timber structures.
- Undertaking roofing repairs and general roof works.
- Completing insurance-related strip-out and reinstatement works.
- Carrying out general building repairs and property refurbishment works.
- Making good following repairs or the work of other trades.
- Working from job instructions, drawings and agreed scopes of work.
- Identifying additional repairs and reporting these to management.
- Taking photographs and maintaining accurate records of completed work.
- Ensuring customers’ homes and belongings are properly protected.
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe.
- Communicating professionally with customers, clients and other trades.
- Following company health and safety procedures at all times.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in joinery, carpentry or general building.
- Strong kitchen-fitting and general joinery skills.
- Experience completing repairs and refurbishment works in residential properties.
- Ability to work independently and manage allocated jobs effectively.
- Good practical problem-solving skills.
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Professional and respectful approach when working in occupied properties.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Reliable, punctual and able to travel throughout the Manchester region.

Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
- Roofing
- Plasterboarding and basic plastering
- Tiling
- Flooring
- Decorating
- Property strip-out
- Basic plumbing
- Brickwork and pointing
- UPVC window and door repairs
- Fire-door and fire-compartmentation works
- Other general multi-trade building skills
