Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Cleaner to join our team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital to ensuring smooth daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and organising kitchen areas, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the culinary team as needed. Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and preparing ingredients under supervision.
- Support the culinary team with organising supplies and ensuring the kitchen remains tidy throughout service.
- Clear waste and recycling from the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment.
- Help with restocking supplies and checking stock levels regularly.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques or restaurant experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with hospitality settings such as hotels or catering establishments is desirable.
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
