Role Overview
As Internal Communications Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every colleague feels informed, valued and connected to the work we do, whether they are based in one of our services or in a central support function. You will recommend and deliver colleague communication strategies that bring our purpose, values, and strategic priorities to life, serving as our internal communications expert across the organization.
Your Responsibilities
Recommend and deliver communication plans that improve business performance and engage colleagues in our values and purpose.
Anticipate communication needs across the business and proactively recommend solutions.
Act as our internal communication expert, coaching senior leaders to become confident and authentic communicators and showing how communications can help achieve their priorities.
Lead project communications so colleagues understand what’s happening, why it matters, and what they need to do.
Deliver high-quality content in a range of formats across our channels, including digital, virtual, and face-to-face events/conferences, leader cascades, and conversation materials.
Lead internal channel development, governance, and continuous improvement.
Own the central communication calendar, balancing activity across key themes to reflect business priorities.
Use data, feedback, and insight to shape activity that improves engagement with communications and drives action.
About You

Skills and Experience
Essential:
Experience leading internal communications within a multi-site organization.
Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex information into clear, engaging, and meaningful messages.
Proven ability to plan independently and make evidence-based recommendations for communications strategies and tactics.
Experience supporting organizations through periods of change and transformation.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage credibly at all levels.
Experience delivering and improving communications channels, including intranets, internal social platforms, briefing events, conferences, and awards.
Ability to analyse data and turn feedback/insight into actionable improvement plans.
Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:
Knowledge or background within the social care sector.
Experience designing content using tools such as Canva.
Experience using AI tools to support communications workflows.
