Record Shop Customer Service Assistant

Job Description
Located within Waterside Garden Centre in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside village of Baston, our Record Shop is passionate about great music, excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming environment for every customer who walks through the door.
We are looking for a Part-Time Record Shop Customer Service Assistant to support the wider team in all areas of the business.
There are 2 positions available for between 15–20 hours per week, including alternate weekend work.
What We Are Looking For
- Someone with a genuine passion for music and vinyl records, with some previous retail or customer-facing experience
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
- Someone who is organised, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a busy retail environment
- A team player who is hardworking, approachable, and enthusiastic
- Good attention to detail when pricing stock, organising records, and maintaining displays
- Confidence using a till system and handling customer purchases accurately

The Duties Will Include
- Serving customers on the till and processing sales accurately and efficiently
- Delivering excellent customer service and offering recommendations when needed
- Sorting, organising, and restocking vinyl records and music merchandise
- Pricing stock and ensuring products are displayed correctly
- Assisting customers with finding records, genres, artists, and new releases
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the shop
- General housekeeping duties including cleaning shelves, counters, and displays
- Supporting deliveries, stock checks, and merchandising tasks
- Working efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ensuring every customer leaves the store fully satisfied

Education
GCSE or equivalent (required)
Experience
- Retail sales: 1 year (required)
