Are you an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal looking for an opportunity to join a well-established law firm and support a busy Corporate Commercial team?
I'm currently working with a highly regarded law firm in North Yorkshire, which is looking to appoint a Paralegal to provide high-quality administrative and legal support to its Fee Earners within the Corporate Commercial department.
This could be an excellent opportunity for someone based in North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales or the surrounding areas who is looking for a new challenge within a friendly and professional legal environment.
The Role
As a Paralegal, you'll play an important role in supporting Fee Earners across their caseloads, ensuring client matters are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
You'll have responsibility for a varied workload, including file management, diary management, client communication, document preparation, billing and general administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage client matters accurately and efficiently using the firm's case management system.
-
Prepare, organise and archive legal files and supporting documentation.
-
Manage Fee Earner diaries, including arranging client appointments and meetings.
-
Prepare client correspondence using audio typing, word processing and digital dictation.
-
Deal professionally with client and third-party telephone calls, enquiries and requests.
-
Manage incoming emails and post, along with photocopying and general administrative duties.
-
Prepare court documentation, including electronic bundles.
-
Witness legal documentation where required.
-
Prepare client bills and manage account ledgers.
-
Provide wider support to fellow Legal Assistants and the management team when required.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
-
Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, ideally within a Corporate or Commercial Property environment.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
-
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
-
Experience using a legal case management system would be advantageous.
-
A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients and colleagues.
-
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is a great opportunity to join an established legal practice and become an integral part of its Corporate Commercial team.
You'll work alongside experienced Fee Earners, gain exposure to a broad range of corporate and commercial matters and have the opportunity to further develop your legal support experience.
The firm offers a professional yet supportive working environment and would suit someone looking to build a long-term career within the legal sector.
What's of offer?
A salary of £25k-£30k dependent on experience and a generous benefits package including:
-
23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional holiday awarded for longer service.
-
Paid Christmas shutdown - the firm closes for several days over Christmas without requiring employees to use their annual leave.
-
An additional paid day off for your birthday.
-
Health and life insurance benefits
