Trainee/Analyst/Senior Analyst

We’re looking for a Trainee, Analyst, or Senior Analyst to join our RPS Adapt Catastrophe Modeling team in Mumbai or Bangalore. You’ll work on rotational shifts, using cutting-edge tools to help clients understand and manage risks from natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods.

Prepare and Analyse Data: Scrub and process data from Statements of Value (SOVs) and financial documents.

Model Risks: Use tools like RMS to simulate the impact of natural disasters on client portfolios.

Collaborate: Work with teams in India and the US to provide insights into risk profiles and modeling results.

Communicate Findings: Create reports and presentations to share your analysis with senior management and clients.

Improve Processes: Stay updated on industry trends and help enhance our tools and methods.

You’ve got a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a similar field.

You’re comfortable working with data and have experience with tools like SQL and Excel (preferred but not essential).

How you'll make an impact

Review and clean data from Statements of Value (SOVs) to ensure accuracy.

Extract and interpret financial details from binders and update models accordingly.

Create input files, geocode data, and prepare it for modeling.

Use catastrophe modeling tools (e.g., RMS) to simulate the impact of natural disasters on client portfolios.

Adjust models to reflect unique risk characteristics and client-specific needs.

Analyse model outputs to identify potential losses, probabilities, and risk-adjusted returns.

Conduct sensitivity analyses to understand how different factors influence outcomes.

Work closely with teams in India and the US to deliver insights on client risk profiles.

Provide clear explanations of model behavior, assumptions, and results to stakeholders.

Support the Gallagher Re Catastrophe Analytics community as needed.

Integrate and manage large datasets, including policyholder information, geographical data, and historical event data.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy in all modeling processes.

Create detailed reports and presentations on model assumptions, methodologies, and findings.

Share actionable insights with senior management, brokers, and clients.

Stay updated on industry trends, new methodologies, and emerging risks.

Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes.

Identify opportunities to improve modeling techniques and workflows.
