Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with bulkers, tippers and curtainsiders, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. This role involves transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of service. This is for a 4 days on and 4 days off working rota, include tramping.
Responsibilities
- Operate bulkers, tipper and curtainsided lorries safely and efficiently to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, by forklift ensuring proper securing of items for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports as required.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within fresh produce.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks as required.
