Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swimming Instructor to join our aquatic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, promoting water safety, and fostering a positive learning environment. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to the needs of participants, from beginners to advanced swimmers.
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers by enforcing pool rules and monitoring water conditions at all times.
- Provide clear instruction on swimming techniques, breathing methods, and water safety practices.
- Assess individual progress and provide constructive feedback to help learners improve their skills.
- Maintain a clean and organised pool area, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes confidence and enjoyment in water activities.
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues regarding lesson plans, progress, and safety procedures.
- Stay updated with current teaching methods, safety standards, and anatomy knowledge relevant to swimming instruction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably in aquatic environments.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to swimming techniques and water safety.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate learners of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Certification in lifeguarding or water safety instruction is desirable but not essential; training can be provided if necessary.
- A genuine passion for teaching swimming and promoting water safety awareness.
- Organised, reliable, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
