Accounts Assistant

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Accounts Team at Duckworth Land Rover, Market Rasen.

Experience of the role is essential with a minimum of two years experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk.

Key duties will include but not be limited to:

Maintain and accurately record all entries on the Sales Ledger, including vehicle sales, workshop invoicing, and parts transactions.
Maintain and accurately record all entries on the Purchase Ledger, matching invoices to delivery notes, and preparing supplier payment runs.
Accurately record, track, and reconcile all petty cash transactions across the dealership.
Record transactions and reconcile specific accounts within the Nominal Ledger to assist with month-end reporting.
Maintain structured department financial files, ensuring all records are archived and kept secure for the required legal and compliance periods.

Successful candidates will need the following experience and skills:

A solid understanding of debits, credits, and financial ledgers (Sales, Purchase, and Nominal).
Proven ability to reconcile statements, spot discrepancies, and trace accounting errors between supplier statements and internal ledgers.
Ability to process high volumes of invoices, receipts, and transactions swiftly without compromising on quality or accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, basic formulas) and familiarity with computerised accounting software (experience with motor DMS systems like Keyloop/Drive, Pinnacle, or Sage is highly advantageous).
Understanding of data protection compliance (e.g., GDPR) and proper financial archiving procedures to maintain records for the required periods.
