Fire Alarm Service & Installation Engineer

About the Role:
We are looking for a qualified and motivated Fire Alarm Service & Installation Engineer to join our professional fire safety team. This position involves the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems across a variety of commercial and residential sites. Experience in the installation and servicing of portable fire extinguishers would also be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839.
- Carry out fault finding, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Complete fire risk assessments and provide expert advice to clients.
- Ensure all work complies with current fire safety legislation and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and complete digital reports on-site.
- Travel to client locations with a company-provided vehicle.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in both fire alarm and extinguisher servicing.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. FIA, BAFE, FETA, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety regulations.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Ability to work a variety of shift patterns to meet client needs (dayshift, nightshift)
Desirable:
- Experience with emergency lighting, AOVs, or other fire protection systems.
- ECS/CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
- Experience in servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers to BS 5306 standards.
