Community Support Worker – Driver Required (Part-Time)
Location: West Bridgford
Hours:
- Wednesday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Thursday: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Friday: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Guaranteed Hours: 9 hours per week
Pay: Weekly pay
Additional Hours: Occasional extra hours available to cover appointments, outings and holiday/sickness cover.
About the Role
We are looking for a caring, friendly and outgoing Community Support Worker to support a lovely blind lady to continue living an active, independent and fulfilling life.
This role is centred around companionship, community access and promoting independence. You will accompany her on outings, appointments and social activities, including her weekly ballroom dancing sessions.
We're looking for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships, has a positive attitude and is happy to spend time chatting, laughing and supporting someone to enjoy life.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Support with community outings, shopping and appointments.
- Safely guide and assist a person with a visual impairment.
- Drive the client to and from activities and appointments.
- Accompany and support her at her weekly ballroom dancing class.
- Encourage independence and confidence in the community.
- Assist with reading information and navigating unfamiliar environments.
- Report any concerns or changes in wellbeing.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance.
- Must enjoy driving and be confident transporting the client safely to activities and appointments.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Excellent spoken English and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
