The Role:
The Refreshment Assistant plays an important part in the smooth running of the office and in the impression the firm makes on its clients. Working across our kitchen, meeting rooms and reception areas, you will keep staff well looked after throughout the working day and ensure that every client and visitor is offered a warm welcome and a well-made drink.
No previous experience in a legal setting is required, but a friendly manner, reliability and an understanding of the need for confidentiality are essential.
Daily refreshment service
- Prepare and serve tea, coffee and cold drinks to approximately 40 employees and occasional visitors throughout the day
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests, particularly during busy periods or when a client arrives unexpectedly
Client meetings and consultation rooms
- Serve refreshments to clients on arrival and offer top-ups during longer appointments
- Clear and reset rooms promptly once meetings finish so they are ready for the next appointment
Kitchen and equipment upkeep
- Keep kitchens and refreshment points clean, tidy and presentable throughout the day
- Load, run and empty the dishwasher; wash, dry and put away crockery and glassware
- Clean and descale coffee machines, kettles and hot water taps to a regular schedule
- Keep the fridge clean and clear out staff items that are out of date
- Report faults, breakages or low-running equipment to the Practice Manager
Stock and ordering
- Monitor stock levels of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits, glassware and disposables
- Flag low stock in good time and assist with placing and checking in orders
- Rotate stock, check use-by dates and dispose of anything expired
- Put deliveries away promptly and keep storage cupboards organised
Hygiene and safety
- Handle hot liquids and equipment safely, taking particular care in corridors and reception areas
- Wipe down worktops, appliances and shared surfaces to an agreed cleaning schedule

- Ability to focus and follow processes correctly and consistently
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- A professional manner and attitude.
Pay: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
