Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Supervisor - Food Safety & Quality, with a genuine passion for food to contribute to the continued success of our foodservice business. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the food industry who is looking to progress their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the technical manager across all technical and QA activities to ensure food safety, legality, and quality compliance.
- Maintain, review, and continuously improve the site Quality Management System and HACCP plans.
- Promote a strong food safety quality culture with continuous improvement initiatives and always maintaining audit readiness.
- Mentor, guide and train team members on food safety, quality standards, hygiene procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparation for internal, customer, and third-party audits, including BRCGS, retailer, and local authority audits.
- Manage customer complaints, non-conformances, and root cause investigations, analysing trends and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote high standards of hygiene, GMP, and food safety process checks through team communication and GMP monthly monitoring audits.
- Manage and maintain databases including product specifications, allergen and nutritional information, updating records when changes are made to raw materials and suppliers, maintaining the supplier approval system, keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Assist in departmental objectives including EPR data collection and reporting.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent knowledge / experience of food safety management systems, BRCGS, and HACCP.
- HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3, and audit experience advantageous.
- Degree in Food Science / Food Technology (or equivalent) preferred.
- Well organised, detail-focused, and proactive in problem solving and an ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong & positive interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with all levels of personnel.
- Driving licence essential as travel required to all Delifresh sites periodically.
