We opened the Ark Open Farm in 1990 and since then it has grown in size and popularity to become one of County Down’s favourite family attractions. Set in forty acres of unspoiled countryside the Farm is home to approximately two hundred animals of all kinds. With a wide variety of family-friendly activities on site including tractor-trailer rides, quad barrel rides, jumping pillows and play areas, as well as a series of brilliant seasonal events.
The Ark Open Farm is unique, being the only one of its kind specialising in animals no longer seen in Northern Ireland’s fields and the only farm staying open all year round.
Visitor Experience Assistant - permanent - full time (30 hours) - up to £12.71 p/hr
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Visitor Experience Assistant to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. From welcoming guests and supporting animal encounters to helping deliver seasonal events and activities, you will play a key part in ensuring every visitor enjoys a safe, engaging, and unforgettable day at the farm.
Core Duties
- Welcoming visitors and providing excellent customer service across the farm
- Supporting daily activities, animal encounters, tractor/quad rides, supervising play spaces and helping to run our seasonal events
- Helping to keep the farm safe, clean, and visitor-ready
- Assisting with admissions, queries, and general visitor support
- Working closely with the wider team to deliver a brilliant experiences every day

- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, school holidays, and bank holidays
- A genuine interest in animals, the outdoors, and family visitor attractions
- Experience in public facing roles and with animals preferred
