Kitchen Porter – Yamato, Edinburgh
Role Overview
The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in maintaining kitchen efficiency by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and seamless support to the kitchen team. This role includes maintaining a clean and organised environment, supporting the kitchen team with basic prep and operating the dishwashing station. We value individuals with a good character, hardworking and reliable who takes pride in being part of a busy, professional Japanese restaurant.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout service.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, and bins.
- Ensure the dishwashing area is well-organised and hygienic at all times.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation as requested.
- Help manage waste and recycling in line with procedures.
- Follow hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.

- Willing to learn and support in all areas of the kitchen.
- Able to work on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
- No experience necessary but experience is preferred.
