Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with young children. Duties
- Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive interaction and guidance
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Manage classroom resources efficiently and ensure the environment is clean, safe, and stimulating
- Assist with organising outings or trips that enhance learning experiences
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding junior staff or interns when necessary
- Uphold all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee classroom activities effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Experience in nursery management or leadership roles is advantageous
- Valid driving licence is desirable for organising outings or home visits if required
