Job Summary
Join our dynamic DX Delivery Depot team as a Parcel Sorter and Warehouse Operative, where your energy and precision will keep our logistics operations running smoothly! Responsibilities
- Accurately sort parcels and shipments according to destination and size, ensuring correct handling and placement
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, adhering to safety protocols
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory, shipments, and material movements
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting of packages and equipment, following proper ergonomic practices
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency throughout the depot
- Support warehouse management with routine mechanical checks on equipment like forklifts or conveyor systems when needed
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling environments is highly desirable
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklift machinery is preferred
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory tracking software is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience can be beneficial for understanding equipment maintenance or repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and consistently in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes ensures accurate handling of parcels and documentation
