Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our growing team within the carpet, flooring and blinds industry. This is a varied role that combines warehouse duties with assisting our installation teams and carrying out local deliveries and collections.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our business. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop practical skills within the flooring and blinds trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming goods including carpets, flooring, blinds and accessories.
- Organise and store products safely within the warehouse.
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Carry out local deliveries and collections using company vehicles.
- Assist carpet and flooring fitters on-site with preparation work, moving furniture, lifting materials and general labouring duties (full training provided).
- Assist with warehouse stock management and inventory checks.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks and balers (training provided).
- Work closely with the warehouse, sales and fitting teams to achieve daily operational goals.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, labouring or flooring industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence required. - Minimum 5 year clean license.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and physical work throughout the day.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
