THE ROLE

We are seeking an energetic and customer focused Deli Counter Department Lead to join our busy deli department in our Foodstore.

THE RESPONSBILITIES

· Oversee daily operations of the deli counter, ensuring efficiency, hygiene and customer satisfaction

· Help mentor deli staff on products, service and food safety, delegate tasks and monitor team performance

· Assist customers with special queries, answer questions and handle any customer complaints

· Monitor stock levels, ensuring products are replenished and stock ordered where necessary

· Create visually appealing displays, promote new products and offer recommendations to customers

· Ensure equipment is clean and fit for use, report any equipment issues to the deli manager

· Complete necessary paperwork related to product orders, cleaning records and temperature checks

· Ensure peak trade especially lunch time trade is delivered in a quick and efficient manner

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

· Demonstrable experience of working in a supervisory role is essential.

· A friendly outlook.

· Able to lead a busy team.

· Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.

· Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts to meet the business needs.

Hours and salary

Full time, minimum of 40 hours a week over 5 days, working alternative weekends.
