G Fitzsimmons & Son Ltd is looking for an experienced Site Steel Fabricator/Fitter to join our growing team based in Rosewell, Midlothian.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and respected steel fabrication company, working on a variety of commercial and industrial projects.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Install structural steelwork, secondary steelwork, staircases, balustrades, handrails and architectural metalwork on construction sites.
- Carry out on-site fabrication, fitting and minor modifications where required.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within specifications.
- Assemble and fabricate metal components using various welding techniques
- Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate production
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively
- Conduct MIG welding and other welding processes as required
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Troubleshoot fabrication and installation issues on-site
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
*Requirements*
-Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent welding and fabrication skills.
- Strong communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and site management practices.
- Valid driving licence (preferred).
- Relevant welding/fabrication certifications are advantageous.
*Desirable*
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
- Valid CSCS Certification
- First Aid at Work certification
- IPAF & PASMA Certification
- Experience managing structural steel installation projects.

- Overtime available (At rate of 1.5x)
- 39 hours per week ( Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 16.30pm - Friday 07.30 - 13.00pm )
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £17.50-£20.00 per hour
