Job Summary
We are looking for a new Volunteer Driver to join our team at Oxfam Darlington Charity Shop! This important role will primarily be for moving stock between Oxfam shops in the Yorkshire, County Durham and Teesside area. It will also involve occasional local collections of donations from customer's homes in and around Darlington. Health & Safety training is given to ensure you are not at risk. Best of all you’ll be raising vital funds to support people facing poverty around the world.
Having your own van will be helpful, but hire vans can be arranged for moving stock between stores.
This voluntary role involves:
- Ensuring donors feel valued
- Collecting donations and other stock with own vehicle or a hire van
- Arranging appointments to suit both yourself & the donor, and advising the manager
- Arranging van runs around Oxfam shops, liaising with managers to know when to expect a collection or drop off
- Speaking to donors about Gift Aid
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable and able to work as part of a team;
- Have good communication skills;
- Have their own van, though not essential;
- Be available to work flexibly.
