Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Cafe Team Member to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the preparation and serving of high-quality dishes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent teamwork skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous experience in catering, cooking (including home cooking), or restaurant settings is required, and you must be comfortable working independently.
This role is weekend-focused only, weekly availability on Saturdays and Sundays is essential.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and presentation in accordance with company standards
- Fulfil kitchen operations including cleaning, organisation, and stock replenishment and rotation
- Prepare ingredients and support food preparation for the following day
- Monitoring food stock levels and flagging when low
- Receiving and putting away deliveries
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service and communicating with front of house effectively
- Managing your own workload during shifts, including prioritising tasks and taking ownership of the kitchen during your shift
- Washing up
- Occasionally supporting FOH when possible, including washing up
Experience
- Some previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety procedures, and kitchen equipment is necessary
- A genuine interest in food preparation and hospitality is essential
