The Opportunity
An established provider is launching a flagship, purpose-built Children’s Residential Home specialising in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties / Disorders (EBD) in Bracknell.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a high-specification service from the ground up. The home will include 6 ensuite bedrooms, professionally landscaped gardens, and is currently undergoing a premium refurbishment.
We are looking to appoint a high-calibre Registered Manager to lead the launch, Ofsted registration, operational development, and long-term success of the home.
This role would suit an experienced children’s residential leader with a strong background in EBD, complex needs, Ofsted-regulated services, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful setup, registration, and ongoing operation of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the initial setup of the service and supporting the successful Ofsted registration
- Developing and implementing robust Ofsted-compliant policies, procedures, and operational frameworks
- Establishing a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for children and young people with EBD and complex needs
- Recruiting, training, mentoring, and leading a high-quality residential care team
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and outcomes
- Driving a culture focused on quality, therapeutic care, positive relationships, and continuous improvement
- Working towards achieving and maintaining strong Ofsted outcomes, with a clear focus on “Good” or “Outstanding” ratings
- Building strong relationships with Local Authorities, Children’s Services, commissioners, and external professionals
- Supporting placement growth through effective referral management and stakeholder engagement
- Managing budgets, staffing, occupancy, and overall commercial performance
- Ensuring the service operates in line with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidance
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident and experienced Registered Manager who can bring strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and operational expertise to a new children’s residential provision.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience within children’s residential care
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or senior leader within an Ofsted-regulated children’s service
- Strong experience supporting children and young people with EBD, complex needs, trauma, or challenging behaviour
- Excellent knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, compliance, and quality standards
- A proven track record of achieving positive Ofsted outcomes, ideally “Good” or “Outstanding”
- Experience developing or implementing policies, procedures, and care frameworks
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence working with Local Authorities, Children’s Services, commissioners, and external professionals
- Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, staffing costs, occupancy, and service growth

About the Role

You will have the autonomy and responsibility to build the service properly from the outset, recruit the right team, develop a strong therapeutic culture, and deliver excellent outcomes for children and young people.

Pay: £50,604.98-£65,375.94 per year
