Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ paid experience working in a registered early years/nursery setting
- Sound knowledge and practical understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete at own cost before start)
- Able and willing to work flexible shifts, any hours to meet the needs of the nursery
- Experience leading a room or small team, supporting daily planning and routines
- Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and child development
- Good communication skills – able to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma / NVQ in Childcare & Early Years Education (or equivalent)
- Experience managing observations, learning journals, and progress tracking
- Knowledge of Peninsula health & safety compliance standards
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day running of your designated room
- Plan and deliver fun, age‑appropriate activities aligned with EYFS learning goals
- Supervise and support assistant staff, students, and volunteers
- Maintain accurate records, observations, and development assessments
- Ensure all health, safety, and safeguarding policies are followed at all times
- Work flexibly across the nursery and cover shifts as required
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s day and progress
