We are currently looking for a full-time Yard Person to join our agricultural and garden team, based in the Coed-y-Dinas Country Store, Welshpool.
Coed-y-Dinas is the flagship store of the retail group. The well-established Country Store specialises in the agricultural and smallholder, equine, hardware and DIY and the rural sector. We are committed to providing high standards of customer service, having a team with strong expertise and knowledge and to selling quality products at competitive prices.
The ideal candidate would have an agricultural background or knowledge of farming products and practices (preferable), including fencing supplies, livestock handling and feed equipment, trailers, and livestock supplements. An enjoyment of working outdoors would be beneficial, as well as being part of a practical team and delivering excellent customer service.
Self-motivated, with a proactive approach and the ability to use own initiative.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges as part of the role.
Main Responsibilities:
· Helping customers find what they need, offering friendly, practical advice and sharing knowledge of our products.
· Handling deliveries, unloading goods, dealing with suppliers such as IAE, Nugent Trailers, Pratley, Ritchie and Rumenco, storing them safely and keeping everything organised.
· Loading and unloading vehicles, working closely with the team to keep everything moving.
· Looking after our yard, keeping it safe, tidy and secure for our customers and colleagues.
· Drive high standards.
· Be commercially focused to drive sales and profit.
Requirements
· Experience in a similar role.
· Excellent communication.
· Be highly motivated and accountable.
· Strong organisational skills.
· Commercial awareness.
· Forklift licence (training can be given).

Working Pattern:
The full-time position is for 42.5 hours per week.
The store is open 7 days a week, currently open 8:30- 17:30 Monday – Saturday and 10:00-16:00 Sunday. The store also opens late on a Thursday during busy seasonal periods 8:30-20:00.
