Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Team Member. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where excellent customer service and food quality are our top priorities. Previous experience in food preparation & cooking is required.
We offer holiday pay, free staff meals, a workplace pension and a positive workplace environment. We are looking to offer the ideal candidate around 14 - 25 hours per week with additional hours available at busy times. Applicants must be available between 7.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
Duties
- Cooking, preparation and assemble of food items according to established recipes and standards
- Serve customers efficiently while providing excellent customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning, and restocking supplies as needed
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed during food handling and preparation
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the café
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, food service, cafes or quick service & fast-food outlets is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order processing
- Experience with serving, bussing, and general cafe operations is a plus
- Kitchen experience or familiarity with culinary techniques is advantageous
- Ability to work well within a team while maintaining a positive attitude
