Cleaning Supervisor
HMP Altcourse, Liverpool
Salary: £28,447.68 per annum
We're looking for a dedicated and proactive Cleaning Supervisor to join our On-Site Services team at HMP Altcourse, Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cleaning professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards, leading by example, and delivering excellent customer service in a secure environment.
As Cleaning Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring cleaning services are delivered to the highest standards across a range of operational areas, supporting a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and stakeholders.
HMP Altcourse serves the courts of Merseyside and the wider North West, maintaining strong community links with a clear focus on rehabilitation and resettlement. We provide high‑quality services that support individuals to make positive changes, offering a wide range of education, training and work opportunities to help residents develop practical, work‑ready skills. Our commitment to reducing reoffending continues beyond custody through community partnerships that support people on release. The prison includes multiple residential units, a healthcare centre, gym, library, workshops, visits hall, chaplaincy and kitchen.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and carry out cleaning duties across designated areas.

Ensure cleaning schedules are completed to required standards.

Manage cleaning stock, equipment, and storage areas.

Complete cleaning records and health & safety documentation.

Report faults, defects, and safety concerns.

Support and guide the cleaning team.

Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a safe environment.

About You

Previous cleaning experience.

Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Organised, reliable, and security conscious.

Willing to work both indoors and outdoors.
